How can you walk across a rooftop, climb an elevated work platform, or access other high-traffic areas in the comfort and knowledge of sure-footed fall protection? Fixed steps from FlexDecks feature OSHA-compliant, anti-slip treads designed for walking-working surfaces in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. They can be used in applications as diverse as the ambulatory stair section of a wheelchair access ramp or a modular rooftop walkway system.

Roof walkways can be installed on flat, barrel, or sloping roofs, including trapezoidal profiles, composite, built-up, and standing seam metal roofs. With steps and a traverse option, they can accommodate slopes up to 35 degrees (8:12 roof pitch). Easy to install or adjust on-site, walkways do not penetrate the roof membrane and provide a clear pathway for workers traversing the rooftop. This also helps protect the roof sheet by eliminating direct-contact foot traffic.

Anti-slip

All FlexDecks fixed steps feature anti-slip treads that are self-draining and anti-bounce to provide a sure-footed walking surface. They are load-tested to guarantee stability and safety during use. OSHA-compliant guardrails can be fitted to stairs and walkways, providing added slip-and-fall protection.

Robust

Steps are constructed of glass-reinforced nylon or anodized aluminum for long-lasting strength and corrosion resistance. Supporting frames can be either aluminum or galvanized steel. They will provide years of trouble-free service even under harsh conditions, such as outdoors or in demanding environments. Nylon treads are fire-rated to Class HB of UL94 and will not present a fire risk.

FlexDecks fixed steps are built from modular components with stair treads in OSHA-specified sizes. This modular design enables us to engineer stairs, walkways, and platforms that integrate seamlessly into your workspace. They are available in standard kits that are easy to install—no welding necessary—and can be reconfigured if your facility needs change.
